The Friends of Roquefixade Association

Every year, the Friends of Roquefixade organize the Early Music Festival, Musica del Temps Passat: four evenings of concerts held in the church, on the village square.

Founded in 2000, the Friends of Roquefixade association's official goal is to promote the cultural development of the Cathar site of Roquefixade. The festival, called Musica del Temps Passat, is an early music festival. It is a meeting place with history and music: it offers a musical opportunity to rediscover this heritage: these concerts encourage us to showcase the repertoires of the medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

Located in the heart of the Cathar Pyrenees region, this festival, which has been awarded the status of a Land of Art and History, was awarded the label by the Departmental Council based on the unique nature of its programming in the Ariège department. By visiting the place with its historical past, in an exceptional geographical setting, opposite the castle of Montségur, we will complete the walk by stopping to contemplate the listed altarpiece of the church, and discovering musical repertoires interpreted by international artists. Similarly, the Cathar trail also Chemin des Bonshommes will allow you to take a break at the Roquefixade stopover gîte: you can combine hiking and festival!Trésorier
